Nest (New Zealand)
Nest is a moebius strip consisting of Andrew Scott (guitar) and Nigel Wright (laptop) originally formed in Auckland, New Zealand in the early 2000s. Guitar serves as sound source for the laptop, which processes the guitar and spits it back as slow rising blasts of full spectrum sound, laying the bed for the next interaction. An improvisational human feedback loop. A loop which finds the players relating not TO each other, but rather THROUGH each other - a unified organism, dissolving the contributions of the individual into an dense amorphous evolving sound object Ever inwards. Andrew is one half of Metal Rouge (with Helga Fassonaki) and Nigel works solo and is one half of Cathedrals (with Tim Coster). First US show.
